Update on things...

Hello all,

I hope everyone is very well, training well and injury-free.  This is just a quick email to update you on what has been happening and what will be happening at PeteWilbyTriathlOn.  Firstly though, a massive well-done to all who have raced recently.  A lot of athletes did a smashing job at Blackpool Sands last week whilst others where racing in Ironman events.  GREAT EFFORT guys!

This month we have hosted the inaugural swim training weekend and another Ironman training weekend.  The feedback from these was fantastic and very useful for our future training weekends (which will defiantly be happening).  The training weekends run from Thursday to Sunday and the next are set to be in August, starting 11th and 18th.  The cost is a very reasonable £90. Laura has now passed her sports massage qualification, so the training camps will now come with an option to have a sports massage if you want it.

The open water swimming (OWS) at 08:30 on Saturday morning has been going very smoothly.  Everyone is doing well.  Skills are being mastered.  In fact, the group that was consisting of some complete beginners now consists of experienced sea swimmers who are practicing advanced skills. I am now running a 10 week course straight afterward, at 09:30 for beginners or those who want to redo the basic skills.  The 08:30 course is progressing into more endurance training with all skills expected whilst the 09:30 course will have a maximum of 6 participants working towards that level.

Lastly, I would like to get a team together to race at the Roadford team triathlon on 1st October.  The triathlon consists of a 400m lake swim followed by a 12km bike ride, then a 3.5km run.  Each team member completes all the distances before handing over to the next member.  The teams have four members.  The normal cost of the triathlon is £30 per member but this will be less for our team.  If this is something you would be interested in, then drop me a line.

Looking forward to seeing some results this year.  Check out the PeteWilbyTriathlon FaceBook page and tell us how you are getting along!!

Hope to see you soon,

Happy Triathlon-ing
