BOOO à tous!

Nous sommes arrivés a la France and we have loads to tell you!

Firstly though, a huge well-done to Julia who completed the Snowman Sprint Triathlon in 02:21:17, making her 2nd  in her age group and 7th woman overall.

Also, congratulations to Tony Moore who did the Weston Super Mare sprint triathlon on 5th October and came 8th in his age group.

And a big weldone to David Murray who completed the Kielder marathon in 3.32.06 on 5th October and the Exmoor stagger in 2.36.16 on 19th October in preparation for Ironman Lanzarote next year.

As you know, we are writing from Villelongue-del-Monts in the South of France (about 25km south of Perpignan) where we have had sunshine everyday!

In the last two weeks, we have been making the most of what the area has to offer and the facilities that are second to none for cycling, swimming and running.

Open water swimming (OWS) in the Mediterranean Sea has been thoroughly enjoyable, the water is so warm at the moment that last week the temperature was higher than the air! Our nearest beach is Argèles-sur-mer, about 10km from our cottage, so we have been cycling to the beach and swimming in the sea while the weather still permits!

Even though we have been told that the area is renowned for impatient drivers (either elderly or drunk!), the spacious roads, few cars, numerous cycle tracks, mountainous and flat routes are amazing for cycling. Today we cycled to Spain and Pete has been doing a weekly 180km ride in preparation for his first training camp with Tracey Fitzgerald next week.

We have joined the local 50m pool in Perpignan and another 25m pool at another town called St Cyprien.

Argeles beach offers a flat run and there is a running track next to the pool at Perpignan.  The cottage is at the bottom of a mountain trail…

All in all, this part of France really is a great place to hold a training camp and we can’t wait to greet Tracey next Tuesday to see what she thinks about the area too!
If you, or anyone you know is interested in our winter south of France training camp do drop us a line and book.

The price of £200 is halved for current athletes.  For £80 we can arrange transfers both ways.  For £50 we can arrange bike hire.

For now, we’ll leave you with a few photos and good wishes for November. Would love to know what you’ve been up to!

Bisoux,

Happy Halloween.  Happy triathlon-ing,
